Question: Why do you only shoot in digital? Answer: I one hundred percent respect and honor film photography. It was and still is my first love. But truth be told in the world of professional photography it is much better for you and for me to use exclusively digital. It reduces problems, can fix minor imperfections, is a more compact medium.
Don't be fooled by others though. I don't shoot digital to make photos "look better". I do it to make sure nothing goes wrong and to correct it if "need" be. We do some digital enhancements. But I firmly believe your photos should be amazing before not just after they are printed. | Question: Why do you not exclusively shoot just weddings? Answer: I know that a lot of photographers will use the "I only shoot weddings" approach to draw in more clients. But personally I find that shooting multiple types of photography allows me to improve my skills on a continuous basis. It also allows me to think on multiple levels of photography so that when I shoot your wedding I can do so in a more unique manner. I would like all to know that although I shoot many different clients, I devote your wedding day exclusively to you. We do not shoot multiple weddings. Period. |
Question: Do you shoot smaller weddings? Answer: Absolutely. If you are having a smaller wedding or need less time than we show. Just call us and we can customize your package. | Question: How long have you been a photographer? How long have you been in business?
Answer: I have been in the photography business since 1999. I started off in childrens' photography. I started shooting weddings in 2000 and officially opened my own business in 2005. |
Question: What is a retainer and how much is it? Answer: A retainer is basically part of your total bill that is non refundable. It is used to cover the costs incurred by your photoshoot, including but not limited too, cost to hold your day, processing and development, labor, and fuel. It doesn't really vary much in this industry. It is 50% of your total payment with us. If you have questions on this feel free to ask. | Question: Who is your second photographer? Answer: Steven aka, my husband is my second. He has been working and shooting with me for two and a half years. The nice thing about it, is that you get an overall consistency with the photography because he trained with me. |
Question: What is the appropriate length of time I should allot for my formal wedding photography? and When is the best time to take photos? Before or after the wedding ceremony? Answer: This is a question that is slightly proportionate to the total time of your wedding. With that said, I strongly recommend that you allot at least an hour for formal photography. Unless you have no bridal party, half an hour almost always leaves you missing some important shots. I have shot several weddings where they wanted to do all the formal shots before the wedding, and I know that some photographers prefer it, to make it more convienent. I personally don't like to do it. The reason is not for any sort of convienence on my part. It definitely would be easier for me to shoot all photos before the wedding, but in reality most brides and grooms are so nervous before the wedding, they never are able to relax. The photos end up looking tense and posed. I will take them upon request. However, I think that if you do not have time or just would prefer not to shoot them after the ceremony, you should consider either doing the photos in the early morning when you are not so nervous or on another day. I can accomodate any of your needs. | Question: Why do you shoot by the hour? Answer: I know that a lot of photographers prefer to shoot by the print, meaning "you get X number of prints", rather than time. It makes you seem like you are getting more than you actually are. I used to work for a wedding company that did that and after my fifth time of saying, "I'm sorry we can't shoot that, you're out of film", I'd had enough. You should be able to have any picture taken you want, with no limit on prints. That's the way we do it. We do give estimates on how many prints you get, but that is really more for people who need it. Does it cost us more money? Absolutely, but it's worth it to see your face, when you get that "perfect" shot! |
Question: I live out of state and would love to use you, what do I need to do? What kind of destination photography do you do? Why does it matter? Answer: We love destination weddings. Don't worry, we'll keep everything low so all you have to worry about is meeting us there. There are no hidden costs. We charge easy, flat fees, and sometimes there aren't any.
If you live out of state, it's no problem. Just fully check out the website, then contact us. We can handle everything on the phone, by fax or email. Just let us know what you need.
If your in state, going somewhere else, just call. | Question: Are you licenced? Are you members of the BBB? Answer: In truth, Arizona does not require any photographer to be licenced. With that said we do have a business license from the State of Arizona and the City of Goodyear. We will be more than happy to present it upon request. We are not afiliated with the BBB. It is a company based business that you pay to be in good standing with. |
Question: Have we seen your work anywhere? Are you a preferred vendor anywhere? Answer: We have won the following awards:
2008-Best of Arizona Residents Medal from the Arizona Camera Council
2008-1st Place Distinction from the Arizona Highways Magazine @ the AZ State Fair 2008-Sweepstakes Award Plaque 2008-Honorable Mention Award for Clerissa 2008-Honorable Mention Award for Steven 2007-We were shown in "Arizona's Finest Wedding Sites" Magazine.
We are also a preferred vendor for The Hillcrest Golf Course in Sun City West. | Question: How do I schedule an appointment? Answer: We are a full service business. Which means we come to you, you don't have to come to us. In truth, our office is so far away from most people, it just became easier to meet them. So you pick the place, we'll meet you there. |
Question: "Why should I hire you, when I can just give my cousin a case of beer and have him take the photos for free?" Answer: Yes, I was actually asked this question by a client once. In truth, I'm sure that you could do just such a thing, but I strongly suggest otherwise. I believe that other than the part where you and your spouse say "I do", the only thing that really matters are your memories. Everything else is just details. While our brains are truly amazing, we can't always remember everything in the manner we hope to. For this reason, do you really want some one with no experience shooting one of the most important days of your life. | Question: Are you members of any associations? Answer: We are proud members of the Arizona Photographers Association.
